Privacy Policy

1. Who I am

This site is run by me, Ruth Varda Shemtov (lessonlocal), Tel Aviv, Israel. I am responsible for the personal information you share here. For any privacy question, email me at info@lessonlocal.com.

2. What information I collect

  • When you book: your name, email, phone number (optional), the lesson or pack you chose and the lesson times.
  • When you pay: the amount, date and receipt details. Card details are entered on the payment provider’s secure page. I never see or store your card number.
  • When you write to me: the content of your message.
  • Technical information: basic information your browser sends to any website (such as IP address and browser type), kept in the hosting server’s logs.

3. Why I use it

  • To book and run your lessons: sending the Google Meet link, reminders and changes.
  • To take payments and issue receipts, as required by Israeli tax law.
  • To answer your questions and keep track of your lessons and packs.

I do not sell your information, and I do not send you marketing emails unless you agree to receive them.

4. Who else handles your information

I use a few trusted services to run the site. Each one handles only what it needs:

  • Hostinger: hosts this website and its database (servers in the United Kingdom).
  • Google (Calendar, Meet and Gmail): lesson calendar invitations, video lessons and email. Your name and email appear in the calendar invitation.
  • Morning (Green Invoice) and Grow: card payments and receipts.
  • Amelia and WooCommerce: booking and checkout software that runs on this website.

Some of these services store information outside Israel, for example in the United Kingdom, the European Union or the United States.

5. Cookies

This site uses only the cookies it needs to work, such as keeping you signed in, remembering your booking while you fill in the form, and your checkout. Your accessibility settings (like larger text) are saved in your own browser. I do not use advertising or tracking cookies, analytics tools or social media pixels. If that changes, I will update this policy and ask for your consent first.

6. How long I keep it

  • Payment and receipt records are kept for 7 years, as required by Israeli tax law.
  • Other information is kept while you are my student, and deleted up to 2 years after your last lesson, unless you ask me to delete it earlier.

7. Your rights

Under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, you can ask to see the information I hold about you, and to correct or delete it. Just email me at info@lessonlocal.com. Some records, like receipts, must be kept by law. If you are not happy with my answer, you can contact the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority.

8. How I protect it

The site uses a secure (HTTPS) connection. Only I have access to student information, and my accounts are protected with strong passwords and two-step verification. The site is backed up regularly.

9. Students under 18

For students under 18, a parent or guardian provides the information and makes the booking.

10. Changes to this policy

If I change this policy, I will update the date at the top of this page.
